A priceless partnership – we partnered Mastercard with the iconic Metropolis Music Studios to provide once in a lifetime experience for Mastercard priceless cities customers. Introducing a world first Live to Vinyl series.

Recording live-to-vinyl is the original process that artists used to record music for public consumption. No modern technology, just plain old playing and recording… In the modern digital age, the art of capturing music live-to-vinyl has long been forgotten. Metropolis Studios have recreated the traditional recording experience using their unique cutting lathes. Add a studio audience into the equation for a little extra pressure…and we’re not just testing the nerve of the artists taking part in the session but creating an incredible emotive experience for music fans. Part of the magic of recording music in this way is that you have to get it right first time...and sometimes the best things happen when you get it wrong. The result? A two track EP cut straight to vinyl from which lacquers are sent to the pressing plant for a limited edition run of 500 records for exclusive distribution by the artist.

The Priceless Experience
• 50 guests will be invited to watch acts go under the spotlight as they get to know the artist behind the music and how they operate in a studio environment. • As the clock counts down to zero and the needle hits the record, guests will witness a truly unforgettable experience in one of the best sonically treated studios in the world. • From the iconic Studio-A, previously inaccessible to members of the general public, guests will watch the full recording session and partake in satellite runs up to mastering to see the vinyl being cut in real time. • The experience includes a champagne reception, a backstage studio tour, a studio insight from Head Engineer, artist meet and greet.
